East Bay Evolution Bike Tours

Join our tour for two-wheeled foodies! Begin and end at the Eat Real Festival at Jack London Square. We'll pedal along Oakland's waterfront and meet local culinary artisans, learn their specialties and taste their creations. Join us as we meet local purveyors of sustainable chocolate, tea, beer and wine. Members of East Bay Bike Coalition or Walk Oakland Bike Oakland receive $10 off cost. Bike rentals available from Bay Area Bikes. Call or write Karen for details if you plan to rent a bike.

Pump up your tires and get ready to bike to 6 East Bay cohousing communities. We'll be biking approximately 8-10 miles on a flat route at a leisurely pace with frequent stops. We'll start at Berkeley Cohousing, ride on to Doyle Street in Emeryville, Mariposa Grove or Triple Point in North Oakland, Temescal Commons and Temescal Creek Cohousing in North Oakland and end at Swan's in downtown Oakland where you can jump on BART or pedal home.

Karen Hester, founding member of Temescal Creek Cohousing, is your tour leader.

Cost is $35 with cold drink provided, $45 with chicken sandwich lunch from Bakesale Betty and cold drink provided. Limited to 30 participants. Please mail checks made out to:

Berkeley Earth Day is an annual event held in April to celebrate the environmental movement and creatively challenge the destruction of our planet. We provide cultural performers, speakers and resources to link individuals and groups with each other in community based ecological activities.
